Lake Country Halloween Weekend Guide

Halloween weekend is here! Do you see Halloween weekend as the unofficial end to the fall season or do you feel that fall goes into November? Hmm…things I ponder. I wonder because, many fall activities like corn mazes and pumpkin farms end their activities on or about Halloween weekend. So, it begs the question, have you done all the fun fall things that were on your fall bucket list?

This weekend is not only Halloween weekend, it’s also when Daylight Saving Time ends aka “fall back” an hour. If you have really little ones, this can totally mess up bed time and nap routines. I’d recommend checking out Lake Country Sleep’s Daylight Savings Guide. Wishing everyone a weekend full of sleep!

Back to Halloween, how will your family celebrate? Will your family celebrate? The general excitement of costumes and trick or treating is not here this year. In previous years, we would have worn our costumes multiple times to multiple events by the time actual Halloween rolls around. Not so this year.

Last weekend (October 24), downtown Delafield hosted Halloween in Delafield with over 1,200 children and their families. This weekend however, is when most communities are hosting their residential trick or treats. If you are going to be participating as a trick or treater or as a candy-hander-outer, please put social distancing recommendations to practice (tips in our Halloween guide) as well as be aware of the Teal Pumpkin Project. And if you are or aren’t trick or treating, you can take a day off cooking with these Kids Eat Free Halloween Specials. Lastly, there are still some virtual or social distance friendly Halloween events going on this weekend!

It’s my and our hope at Lake Country Family Fun that when you read the weekend guide, you become inspired. Inspired to slow down and laugh with your family. Inspired to explore with your family. Inspired to truly get to know these little people we call our children while they still live under our roofs, before they move out and make their own families.

And because the weekend will be sunny, bundle up and head outdoors for at least a little bit each day. If you’re looking for outdoor family fun weekend guide full of things to do – you’re in the right spot with the Lake Country Family Fun Halloween Weekend Guide! {We have indoor fun to share with you as well.} See below. ⤵️

Lastly, as always, I say, breathe. I have said it multiple times now in weekend guides since SPRING, social media posts and our e-newsletters, and I will continue to say it, because it’s something I remind myself daily. When I feel the overwhelm creeping in, when I feel the uncertainty settling in, when I feel unsure of the next move…I stop and breathe.

So, we want to see all your weekend fun! Turn these lemons into lemonade🍋 Be sure to tag @lakecountryfamilyfun in your weekend fun, your activities, your survival strategies, and we’ll be sure to share in our Facebook or IG stories. Thank you to the many who tagged us last weekend!  🤗🥰
