Mama D’s, with locations in Waukesha, Wales, and Genesee Depot, is a presenting sponsor of the guide. This was my first time visiting any of the Mama D’s locations, though the very first Lake Country Currents event was hosted at the Wales location in February 2019. I decided to meet a friend for breakfast at Mama D’s in Waukesha. (For now, I only plan to visit the Waukesha location.)
The Waukesha location is adorable and looks like it may have been a diner back in the day. You’ll find parking on either side of the building. Outdoor seating faces the parking lot, and you might catch the occasional train passing.
I didn’t see any high chairs, and I didn’t go to the restroom, so I’m not sure if the Waukesha location has a baby changing station.
They had a variety of drink and food choices on the menu. The Waukesha location served items from area products – Valentine coffee, Rishi Tea, and Three Brothers Farm eggs, and Oly’s Oats. Most of the patrons that morning seemed to pop in and out. A few of the patrons had their punch cards at the ready, so be sure to pick one up when you place your order.
My quiche and candy cane chai were delicious. My friend enjoyed her oatmeal and snowflake latte. The barista even made a pretty leaf design in the drink. I don’t know if making these designs are hard, but these designs always make me smile. After a lovely visit with my friend, we parted ways and I headed to the Waukesha library for a meeting.
One coffee shop down, six to go.
