The City of Waukesha is having the Waukesha 4th of July parade in 2024! The City of Waukesha Independence Day Parade, presented by Couri Insurance will have the theme, “Through the
Decades,” takes place on Thursday, July 4, 2024, stepping off at 11:00 a.m.

Bring your friends and family to a traditional hometown celebration featuring marching bands, floats, and a sea of bikes, trikes and wagons.

Waukesha 4th of July Parade and Schedule:

  • 9:30 to 10:00 am – Line-Up in the area of Cutler Park
  • 11:00 am – Parade Begins
  • Free Ice Cream will be distributed to all children that participate in the parade! *Sponsored by the Waukesha Kiwanis Early Risers

Waukesha Memorial Day Parade Waukesha 4th of July Parade 2024

No vehicles may be parked along the parade route starting at 7:00 a.m. on July 4. Roads will be closed starting at 10:00 a.m. on July 4. No traffic will be able to enter or exit the parade perimeter until the conclusion of the parade around 1:00 p.m.

For spectators coming to the parade, please park using street parking or City parking lots near the parade route and walk to your viewing location.

Children’s Bike Unit in the Parade

Decorate your bikes, trikes, and strollers (no motorized units)  and be part of the Children’s Unit! Families may walk into the lineup at the Lee Sherman Dreyfus State Office Building and line up near the Children’s Unit sign beginning at 10:00 a.m. No registration is required.

Parade Route
As the City of Waukesha prepares for upcoming events, safety protocols and procedures for all events will continue to be reviewed. The city will continue to establish a secure perimeter along the route, with parking restrictions in place along the parade route. As each parade approaches, the city will communicate to the public the times the perimeter will be in effect.

Please note:

  • Line up begins at 10 a.m. in Cutler Park, 321 Wisconsin Ave. Please look for the Children’s Unit Line Up sign. Parade steps off at 11:00 a.m.
  • Children will receive a participant ribbon.
  • Children and families are encouraged to decorate their bikes, trikes, strollers, or themselves.
  • Bike helmets are encouraged.
  • Motorized units (battery powered or otherwise) are NOT
  • Parents are welcome to stay with their children.
  • Please remind children on bikes/trikes must stay with the unit and not get ahead of or behind the unit for everyone’s safety.
  • Restrooms are located in Cutler Park.
  • At the end of the parade, you will be directed to proceed down Grand Ave. to Carroll St. or the Library parking lot to regroup. Everyone must get off of Grand Ave. so that the parade may continue advancing.
  • Have fun!

PLEASE NOTE:  NO MOTORIZED ENTRIES IN THE CHILDREN’S UNIT WILL BE ALLOWED.

Please note: City Ordinance 11.22 (i.) & (j.) prohibit dogs in the park.

 

Please note the fireworks will be on July 3, 2023.
