The City of Brookfield 4th of July Parade

9:55am – Children’s Parade Children ages 4-10 years are invited to show their patriotic spirit by decorating their bikes, wagons, scooters, rollerblades, or strollers in red, white, and blue. This fun prelude to the main parade is a chance for our youngest residents to lead the way in celebration of Independence Day. Families interested in participating, please meet at the Calvary Lutheran Church parking lot, 1750 N. Calhoun Road, at 9:30 a.m. on July 4th, for the lineup. The Children’s Parade will travel north on Calhoun Road to Civic Drive (0.2 miles). When it is over, parents can meet their children at the Safety Building and view the main parade.

10:00am – Independence Day Parade

Flag Raising Ceremony and Ice Cream Social-immediately following the parade in Civic Plaza

All Independence Day Activities in the City of Brookfield will be held on SATURDAY, JULY 4, 2026.

Calhoun Road will close at approximately 9:30 AM
The parade will continue until all units have completed the route.  In a typical year the parade ends approximately at 11:30 am.

Parade Spectator Guidelines

Chairs, blankets, tarps, ropes and similar items may only be placed along the parade route within 24 hours of the event (10AM). Any items placed before 10am (24 hours) the day prior to the Independence Day Parade will be removed per Brookfield Municipal Code Section 12.08.020

NO items may be placed on median strips until 7:00 AM on the morning of the parade. In addition, the placement of large and over-sized items that could potentially obstruct the view of other parade spectators is strongly discouraged. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

 

2026 Parade Route

*Join the Brookfield Public Library on July 3rd 11:00 AM in the Library’s East parking lot to decorate your bike for the Children’s Parade on July 4th.

Brookfield Family Fest

Family Fest 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Mitchell Park – 19900 River Road Brookfield
An annual pre-fireworks event featuring family-oriented activities and a variety of food and entertainment. Come on out to the park earlier and find parking, have a picnic, enjoy the activities and entertainment, and stay for the fireworks extravaganza.

Fireworks will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2026

The fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 PM.

Rain date Saturday, July 5, 2026 for Fireworks Only – No Family Fest
