“Colors of the Seasons” Exhibit by John Suess at Delafield Public Library

Local artist and retired librarian John Suess brings a fresh perspective to a familiar setting as the Delafield Public Library hosts his latest exhibition, Colors of the Seasons, throughout March 2025. Suess, who dedicated over three decades to the Milwaukee Public Library system, will showcase a selection of his nature-inspired artwork, capturing the beauty of Wisconsin’s ever-changing landscapes.
The exhibit features vibrant scenes from beloved locations such as Kettle Moraine, Kohler-Andrae State Park, and the Milwaukee River. His detailed and colorful compositions bring each season to life, offering visitors a unique visual journey through Wisconsin’s natural beauty.

“I am thrilled to share this collection with the Delafield community,” said Suess. “Wisconsin’s landscapes have always been an inspiration to me, and I hope these pieces resonate with viewers, bringing them a sense of joy and appreciation for the changing seasons.”

Since retiring from his library career in 2007, Suess has devoted his time to painting, creating over 150 works. Blending impressionism, tonalism, and realism, his art focuses on nature and landscapes. His paintings have been displayed in public libraries, galleries, and juried exhibitions across Wisconsin, earning him widespread recognition for capturing the charm of the Midwest.
