Ah, July – one of my favorite months. I love summer. I love the 4th of July festivities. I love the warm air. I love beach days. I love Sunday Fundays on the lake. I love dining outside. I love community festivals. I love Hartland Kids Day.

JULY 15-19, 2026

Get Your Kicks at the 184th Waukesha County Fair, presented by Inpro, happening July 15–19, and start planning your family’s visit today! 1. Celebrate at the Hartland Hometown Celebration! {Technically, in June this year.} They are lighting off fireworks on Friday, June 26th at10:00 pm and hosting a parade on Sunday, June 28th, with all sorts of family fun on Saturday, too!

3. Come out for Food Truck Friday at the Waukesha Airport.

  • July 10th: Smoke Ring BBQ, Bocadillos Mobile Kitchen, and New Beginnings Aviation Ministry

  • July 17th: Bangin’ Burgers, Cocina Filipina, and Phoenix Mobile Grill

  • July 31st: Pina Mexican Eats, Big John’s Burgers, and Tailwinds & Tailwags Coffee Co.

4. Explore Milwaukee with Kids

  • We love visiting the Milwaukee Domes! Check out their 2026 summer garden show, “Glass Under Glass“.
  • We love spending time on the lakefront and perusing the Milwaukee Art Museum ! Plus, kids under 12 are FREE always!
  • The Milwaukee Public Museum is also offering its free days again: the first Thursday of every month! (July 2, 2026!)
  • Have you been to the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum recently?!
  • The Zoo is open (Tap the link and scroll to #20)!
    • Visit the Zoo’s 2026 summer exhibit, POWERFUL POLLINATORS. Be amazed by more than 20 robotic creatures with sound and movement, plus photo ops and interactive climbable structures.
    • $4 entrance fee for the special exhibit.
  • Check out the newly renovated aquarium all month at Discovery World.

5 - Sign up for a Summer Camp

It's not too late to sign up for a late summer camp! Many moved to late summer!

6. Take a road trip and go camping, creating your own family “event”! Make it themed, make it fun – let the kids plan it out OR surprise the kids with their favorite theme!

7. Take in a Dockhounds Game in Oconomowoc / Summit!

  • Howl-Ween- July 17th-19th (Note: Louie Bobbleheads, Trick Or Treat, Helicopter Candy Drop)

8. Catch some tunes at Waterfront Wednesdays at Pewaukee Lake at Lakefront Park. See our fun HERE ON INSTAGRAM.

9. Sussex Lions Daze will be July 10-12, 2026.

10. If you want to head to the north side of the greater Waukesha County area, check out Ashippun’s Fireman Festival.  Get out of the house and have some fun during this two-day celebration on July 10-11.

12. Catch a Moonlit Movie in Oconomowoc on July 9: The Wild Robot

3 nights of fun in downtown Delafield: July 16-18, 2026!

14. Earlier this year, is the Lake Country Art Festival held at Nagawaukee Park. Spend the day on July 11, looking at the various art in the park.

15. Check out Maxwell Street Days in Mukwonago on July 18-19th.

16. Bands at the Beach at City Beach in Oconomowoc has been rocking the dock. Take in a concert on July 3 or 31, 2026!

17. Watch some pig and duck races at the Waukesha County Fair!

18. Dousman Derby Days is scheduled for July 24th-26th, 2026 in Cory Park. We had so much fun at the Wisconsin State Frog Jump. If you haven’t – try it! My youngest has hopped her frog a few times! (Don’t let the DNR stop or change this time honored tradition.)

19 - Have a blast at Hartland Kids Day!

Lake Country Family Fun has been busy planning Hartland Kids Day!! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 29th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Nixon Park in Hartland! Tap the image for all the details on our 14TH ANNUAL EVENT!

20. Check out the annual Sidewalk Sale at the Smiley Barn in Delafield. The event is July 10 – 19, 2026 during regular store hours. We just scored some fuzz ball NeeDohs in June 2026!

21. The BIG GIG is back in 2026 for the weekends!! Find the last weekend of Summerfest in July:
