Candlelight Snowshoe and Hike

The Catholic Ecology Center is presenting a candlelight Valentines candlelight snowshoe and hike for couples.  The trail, lined with luminaries, is about 3/4 of a mile and mostly flat. The hike will end with a fire, hot chocolate, snacks and a blessing and talk by Fr. LoCoco.
Snowshoe use is free to members of the Catholic Ecology Center while supplies last.
Tickets are non-refundable. $30-45 for two people.
Enjoy a romantic candlelight hike with your loved one followed by cozy refreshments and a talk by Fr. Joe Simmons, SJ.

Come and celebrate the feast of St. Valentine with a romantic candlelight hike or snowshoe. After the hike, enjoy a cozy fire inside St. Francis Hall with light appetizers, beer, wine, hot chocolate and tea provided. As a special treat, sample some organic chocolates from local maker, Captain’s Chocolate. Listen as Fr. Joe Simmons, S.J. reflects on the four loves and recieve a priestly blessing.

This event is open to dating, engaged, and married couples of all ages.

The Green Loop encounters the pond, Otter Creek, the Rubicon River and the boardwalk. The trail, which will be lined with luminaries, is approximately 3/4 of a mile and mostly flat, making for a beautiful walk.

Leashed pets are welcome on the trails but not allowed in the buildings.

Participants will be notified of any changes in the evenings itinerary due to weather conditions via the email address used during registration. In the event of cancellation due to severe weather, all tickets will be fully refunded.

Fr. Simmons, SJ (DPhil, Oxon, 2023) is a Catholic priest of the Midwest Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). His areas of interest are theology and literature, the theological turn in phenomenology, fundamental theology, as well as atheism and secularity. He currently teaches theology at Marquette University.

Approximate Schedule:

7:00 PM Arrive & hike the trail at your own pace

7:45 PM Appetizers & drinks in St. Francis Hall

8:00 PM Talk & priestly blessing

8:25 PM Event ends. Optional fellowship until 9:00pm
