Take a Kid Ice Fishing, Dousman
February 12, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free2022 statement, “Weather permitting we’re looking at the second Saturday in february.”
Do you know a kid that has always wanted to try Ice Fishing, but you lack the time, gear, and knowledge or know how? Want to try it to see if it is a sport for your family? Well good news! Because the WI-DNR offers a FREE FISHING weekend in January with that they present:
TAKE A KID ICE FISHING
Located on school section Lake
8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Free family event.
Everything is provided! They provide everything: bait, poles, tip-ups, minnow buckets, ice holes drilled, and guides to teach you how to fish. They also offer a hot lunch and drinks out on the ice. Bring the whole family!
Be sure to dress warm, especially waterproof boots and gloves. Dress as you would for sledding or warmer. You will be on ice, outside for the entirety of the event. “Pull sleds” are a fun way for little ones to get around on the ice. Don’t forget your sense of wonder!
This event is sponsored by: Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Post 189
They and all our dedicated volunteers and local sponsors provide the gear, guides, bait, food and drinks. Here is an opportunity to introduce family and children that don’t have someone to teach them fun and trials of Ice Fishing.
We ask that you please use the park just up the street from the lake and take advantage of the FREE GoRiteway shuttle. There is no cost but we do ask if you can please tip the driver. Please do not fill up the boat launch area or park in the roads around the area. Due to limited parking, a free bus shuttle will be at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 36014 Sunset Dr.
