Virtual PLaydate Playdough 2020

Lake Country Family Fun is excited to be bringing you a virtual playdate series!  You will find the playdate events on our Facebook page with the actual playdate on the page LIVE or within the event discussion area!  We are branching out and finding NEW ways to have fun and give our families fun things to do too!  We hope you enjoy!

We’re heading into a long holiday weekend, let’s get the party started with a Kid Boogie Down Dance Party!
Get ready to BOOGIE DOWN with Kid Boogie Down. Our friends over at Kid Boogie Down are coming to Lake Country Family Fun’s Facebook page on Thursday, May 21st for a special, one-of-a-kind playdate JUST for Lake Country Family Fun followers! An exclusive party!!  You won’t want to miss it!

Be sure to join in for the interactive dance segments, but we’ll be dancing through the whole thing! There is something for everyone. Check out these spoilers:

Join our team member Stephanie on a scavenger hunt! Stephanie’s boys really want to host another playdate! In fact, they have been begging their mom. SO…..join us for an official LCFF Scavenger Hunt through Stephanie’s neighborhood. She will show you how they prep for a scavenger hunt, and then she will take you with on the hunt!

Lake Country Family Fun has partnered with the Oconomowoc Public Library. Come check out DINO Storytime with Ms. Caitlin from the Oconomowoc Public Library. Have you been missing going to storytime at the Oconomowoc Public library? Well, we are bringing storytime to YOU via our virtual playdate series.

If you like this, be sure to join the Oconomowoc library for their Saturday Sing-Along this weekend on Sat., May 9 @ 10 am on Facebook live. Also, there are Cuddle-Up Stories each weeknight at 7:30 (through next Fri., May 15). Finally, CURBSIDE pick-up from the library is now available – get your books today!

Hello friends!
Lake Country Family Fun has partnered with the Friends of the Domes in 2020. Until we can explore in the facility again, come play with the Domes virtually!

The Friends of the Domes Presents:
Nature Moments with Mr. Pete. We will watch Mr. Pete speak on 3 segments:
1. Get to know Mr. Pete.
2. Making an eggshell planter
3. Making Seed Necklaces

We might even get a sneak peek at the end from the 2020 Train & Garden Show!

Please have these items ready for the playdate:
Egg Carton or small cup
Spoon
Eggs (in end, will just be using shell)
Soil
Cotton Balls
Snack bag
Yarn
Beans or Flower Seeds

Join Angela from Creative License in Pewaukee and Hartford for a Secret Pizza Party! Get your creative hat on and listen to a story as you decorate for a pizza party. 

Monday, April 27 at 9:30 am.

Prior to the playdate, head to Creative License’s website to order the kit OR you can use a white paper plate.

Colors needed: Regular Red, Dark Red, Brown, Yellow

From noon to 4:00 pm Thursday through Saturday, you can pick up curbside or Creative License can deliver to your doorstep for an additional $5 delivery fee.

Join Jaina of A Humbled Thread as she will show us two fun activities to do with thread and yarn, even a fun sustainable option to help families use what they have around the house.

We hope this activity gets kids (& even adults) inspired to get creative and try something new during “stay at home!”

General things to have on hand:
-Scissors
-Ball of yarn (1 regular skein of yarn per kiddo should be enough)
 
PomPom Activity:
-Fork (regular table fork or slightly larger serving fork)
 
Cardboard Loom Weaving Activity:
-Approx 8.5×11″ size cardboard, or smaller
-writing utensil to make marks 
-ruler 
-tape (preferably masking or duct tape)
 
Optional:
-embroidery thread/friendship bracelet floss)
-Old T-Shirt (large adult tshirt should make enough T-Shirt yarn for 2 kids)

Join Ms. Cindy of Hearts and Hands Christian Preschool in Oconomowoc as we make a bird feeder together from our own homes!

Monday, April 20 at 9:30 am

Before 9:30, be sure to have these ingredients and supplies on hand:

3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup molasses (or you can use corn syrup)
4 cups bird seed (Ace and Fleet Farm have bird seed and you can call pay ahead and do curbside pickup)
1/2 cup water
Muffin tin to dry
Plastic Eggs sprayed with spray
Twine (or String or Yarn)

Best for ages 3 and up!

Join Marlene of Lake Country Fine Arts in Hartland as she teaches us how to make clay right at home!

Join Megan from Lake Country Family Fun as she shows us how to make Hocus Pocus Rolls. Another name for these yummy rolls are “resurrection rolls”, fitting as Sunday is Easter!

April 13 at 9:30 am!

Best for ages 3 and up!

Before 9:30, be sure to have these ingredients on hand:
A can or tube of crescent rolls
Melted Butter
Equal parts of sugar and cinnamon
Marshmallows

Also, be sure to have a clean work surface and a muffin tin or baking sheet.

Join Sarah McClintock of Highland Ridge Stables for a pony playdate! Sarah’s going to show us her ponies, show us how to brush a horse properly, and we’ll get to watch a rider riding a horse in this beautiful spring weather!

This week, Stephanie (LCFF team member) and her kiddos bring you a Playdough Playdate! Come join to find out all the fun on how to make your own playdough.

Before you join the virtual playdate, please have these these ready (per kid):

  • 2 cups flour (measured out and in a bowl/dish)
  • 2 tablespoons oil measured out and in a dish
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar (or 4 tps lemon juice or vinegar to substitute) in a dish
  • 1/2 cup salt in a dish
  • 1.5 cups water on the stove to boil
  • big bowl with a wooden spoon
  • Options: food dye of choice and/or essential oil of choice

Note: Gathering your ingredients and prepping your workspace will allow this playdate to run much more smoothly.
