Are your kids into trucks? My kids LOVE them! Yes, my girls love trucks. Their dad did own a concrete redi-mix company after all. They are slightly privy to concrete mixers, but they love to climb in and around fire trucks and ambulances and dump trucks, too!
Fun Fact: The above image of this guide is of a concrete mixer, not a cement mixer. There is a difference between cement and concrete. Cement is a fine powder like baby powder and is an ingredient in concrete. Concrete is the final product, like a concrete sidewalk or a concrete driveway. There really is no such thing as a cement mixer, despite the term being used in many children’s books, including one of our family’s favorites, “Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site”. There is such thing as a “cement bulker”, which transports cement powder, usually to a concrete plant, where the cement is mixed with other ingredients to make concrete. I like to think of cement is to concrete as yeast is to bread. #nowyouknow
If your kids are the same or similar to mine, check out the Lake Country Family Fun Touch A Truck guide to finding Touch A Truck events in Wisconsin! Find fire trucks, ambulances, dump trucks, construction trucks and front loaders, and MORE!
At most of these events, children will be allowed to touch, climb, sit in the driver’s seat, pose for photos, and ask questions about their favorite trucks in a safe, supervised environment. Accompanying personnel will teach the children about the equipment and vehicles displayed and how these machines help up and our local community. Click on each event to find specific details.
