Hartland Kids Day is the largest free family event in Hartland, Wisconsin. Held annually at Nixon Park on the last Wednesday in July, the event features kids activities, bounce houses, live entertainment, animals, food trucks, and local businesses. Hartland Kids Day is one of our favorite traditions of the summer in Lake Country! Every year families from Hartland, Oconomowoc, Delafield, Pewaukee, and throughout Waukesha County gather at Nixon Park for a morning full of free family fun.
Created by Lake Country Family Fun, Hartland Kids Day has grown into the largest family-centered event in Hartland. The 14th annual event returns on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 and features live entertainment, kids activities, a rock wall, bounce houses, animals, food vendors, and local businesses all coming together to celebrate community.
This event is made possible thanks to incredible community support, our Premiere Sponsor Lake Country Dance, located right here in Hartland, and the many other amazing sponsors that come together for a day in the park for connection and community.

What is there to do at Hartland Kids Day?
Here’s what you can expect at Hartland Kids Day 2026:
Hartland Kids Day has tons of fun things to do for kids and parents alike. Here is a typical day at Hartland Kids day you may find in 2026:
- Start Your Day with the Free Shuttle
Parking around Nixon Park is limited, so we encourage families to park at Lake Country Lutheran High School and take the free shuttle to the park.
The shuttle ride is quick (about 3 minutes) and strollers are welcome.

- Parking is available on side streets around Nixon Park and public lots, however parking is restricted and prohibited for attendees in the park’s parking lot and along one side of the road on East Park Ave to create a safer walking atmosphere for families.
- DO NOT Park in any places where it is prohibited. The Hartland Police will be ticketing for parking violations. Let’s keep it a day of fun!

- Fuel with Caffeine
Stop at the Divine Redeemer Booth right when you get off the shuttle for a $1 iced coffee. - Pick Up Your Free Swag Bag
Stop at the Lake Country Family Fun Booth to get your free swag bag (one per family). There are 250 bags and the LCFF booth is to the right of the Fine Arts Stage. *The bags are usually gone by 11:00 am. -
Enjoy Mainstage Performances
Take in a performance or two at the Fine Arts Stage, which includes theatre, music, dancing, a fashion show and more! Scroll below for the full 2026 line up! -

Hartland Kids Day is a wonderful opportunity for families to meet local businesses and organizations serving the Lake Country community.
You may meet local dentists, kids activity providers, youth programs, and other community partners. -
EAT!
Find our “food court” of food trucks and vendors in the parking lot. Come hungry for a variety of savory and sweet treats! -
Climb the Rock Wall
IT’S BACK! The pony-cycle experience was fun last year, but we love our classic rock wall, which will be set up in the parking lot. -
Bounce through the Bounce Houses
Bounce houses provided by Bounce Life Rental are always a favorite stop for kids. - Animals and Interactive Experiences
In the grass over by the tennis courts, find Glacier Rock Farms and some of their animals as well as Secure Beginnings, LLC with their therapy horse and the ability to paint! - Splash Pad and Playground
While not technically part of the Hartland Kids Day event, the splash pad and newer playground are available all day! - When you get hungry, choose from Chick-fil-a, Smoke Ring BBQ, and Tots on the Street. Follow it up with a dessert from Just Dough-Lightful or Quincy the Waffle Wagon. If you get hot, enjoy a treat from KONA ICE. Go pet some of the animals from Glacier Rock farms or the the Waukesha County Parks booth.
- Play on the playground or splash at the splash pad to cool off before taking in more shows, dancing to the music and meeting new people. Hartland Kids Day is ALWAYS the last Wednesday in July, so take off of work in advance 🙂

Hartland Kids Day Charity Spotlight
Hartland Kids Day and Lake Country Family Fun proudly supports the BackPack Coalition of Waukesha County. In 2026 they will be accepting online cash donations and the following for an in-person supply drive. If you’d like to make an online donation, please follow this link.
The goal is to provide supplies for 7,000+ students in Waukesha County.
Here is what your donation (cash or through the supply drive) does:
- Ensures a child can start the school year with the supplies needed to succeed as without the right school supplies, a child’s capacity to learn can be greatly diminished.
- Makes a child proud to have their own school supplies. Every child starts out on the same foot, with the same items needed for the grade and school they attend.
- Reduces the amount of money teachers spend to fill supply gaps that families can’t afford.
- Frees up family budgets that are already strained, especially during these
challenging times. - Helps our youth grow to be tomorrow’s young adults, ready to face the world.
Supply drop-off location during the event:
Backpack Coalition / Salvation Army booth at the shuttle drop-off area.
A photographer will be on site during the day taking photographs and video during this event which may be used for future marketing purposes.

Come hungry! Every year we bring more food, and every year, more families eat more food! While all the fun at Hartland Kids Day is free, food is available for purchase from local vendors.

Lost and Found Information
Lost something during the event?
We get it, we are moms, too. You’re pushing the stroller through and all the sudden you realize your child has one shoe. Where’s the other shoe?!
The Lake Country Family Fun booth will host the Lost & Found during Hartland Kids Day.
If you find anything, please bring it to the Lake Country Family Fun Booth, located on the right side of the Fine Arts Stage, while looking at it from the bleachers. If you lose anything, we hope you can be reunited with your lost objects.

We had a wonderful time at kids day again this year! I think this was our fourth or fifth year to come to Kids Day. My grandson looks forward to it every time. I’m hoping that you will have many more food vendors next year including maybe some chocolate or sweets in that area. It was a great time and we were delightfully worn out by the end of the day. Wish we could have come. Our house got struck by lightning so we have been bouncing around from a hotel to friends houses. We hope to be back sept. Thanks for all the volunteers who help this is one of our favorite events to go to!!
