Village of Hartland — A new event Wednesday, July 31, in Nixon Park is promising to make a day at the park even more fun than usual.
Hartland Kids Day,from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is a free event with activities and presentations geared toward kids and their families. The event will include three bounce houses, a climbing wall and mascots, as well as presentations, including programs focused on interactive art, martial arts and healthy eating.
Kids will also have the opportunity to try playing basketball, tennis and a variety of musical instruments. Food and drinks will be available for sale, and the new splash pad will be open.
The event is being produced by Lake Country Family Fun, an Oconomowoc-based business, and will be sponsored by a number of local businesses and organizations, each of which will offer a free kids’ activity. Other than food and drinks, vendors will not be selling anything at the event.
Hartland Kids Day will also include a school supply drive to benefit Backpack Coalition Inc., an organization that provides school backpacks and supplies to low-income families in Waukesha County.
