West Allis Farmers Market

July 2, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

The West Allis Farmers Market is pleased to announce that it will open on May 7, 2022, for its 103rd season. The market will operate as an open-air, in-person shoppers market per usual, with extra precautions to ensure everyone’s safety.

The West Allis Farmers Market offers a wide variety of seasonal produce, fresh meats and eggs, honey and maple syrup, fresh-cut flowers and annual plants, and prepared foods. Each year the Farmers Market is open from the first Saturday in May through the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 1 – 6 p.m. Please note we are closed Thanksgiving Day.

We open later in the day to allow the farmers to bring only the freshest produce, picked that morning, to the market.

The Farmers Market Committee and members of the West Allis Health Department are working to finalize what additional measures will be in place to support physical distancing and to ensure the safety of the vendors and the customers. They will share the guidelines for the 202 season as soon as they are available. Updates HERE.

Vendor Guidelines

  • When fully vaccinated, an individual can choose to not wear a mask during the West Allis Farmers Market.
  • However, while more individuals continue to get the COVID-19 vaccine, it remains important that unvaccinated individuals continue to wear a mask.
  • Avoid going to the West Allis Farmers Market if you feel sick and encourage your employees to stay home from the market if they feel sick.
  • Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. Encourage regular hand washing among employees as well.
  • Use hand sanitizer only on visibly clean hands; hand sanitizer is not effective when hands are visibly dirty.

Customer Guidelines

    • Masks are strongly recommended for customers at the West Allis Farmers Market.
    • Avoid going to the West Allis Farmers Market if you or someone in your household is sick.
    • Try to maintain 6 feet of physical distance from other customers and vendors whenever possible.
    • Minimize the number of people you bring with you to the market. This helps limit crowd size.

A wide range of produce arrives at the market throughout the year. The early season brings bedding plants, radishes, asparagus, and rhubarb. Strawberries and raspberries arrive in June as well as zucchini, squash, peas, snap beans. Corn arrives about a week after July 4 along with many other squashes and herb plants. The late season brings fresh apples and cider. Chickens and fresh eggs are always available. If you can’t pick it yourself, the West Allis Farmers Market is your best bet.

Dogs are not allowed at the market.
