FreeAbout the Butler Public Library:
The Butler Library was established by a small, but dedicated group of women with 500 donated books and a small collection of furniture and equipment. The library was originally located in the front room of the Village Hall where the clerk had her office. It later moved to a 1,500 square foot location in the same building that had once been the maintenance garage. Donald Osinski served as Library Director from April to June, 1964. Mrs. Culver from Brookfield replaced him and trained her clerk, Anne Thompson who then served as Library Director from 1964-1992.
Today, we have a 5,900 square foot library and are open 51 hours a week to serve the needs of the greater Butler community. We have 16 public computers with high speed internet and Microsoft Office. We also offer a variety of programs for infants all the way up to seniors.
Search for library materials across the 16 member libraries in Waukesha County by visiting www.cafelibraries.org or give us a call and we will assist you in finding the material you are looking for (262) 783-2535.
