Join the City of Waukesha for the Grand Opening of the new Horeb Skate Park on Wednesday, August 9! Join in celebrating the completion of the City of Waukesha Horeb Springs Skate Park. The Mayor, Waukesha Parks, Recreation, and Forestry team and experiences skateboarders will highlight the features. Free picnic dinner with hot dogs, chips and water (while supplies last) and DJ entertainment will be featured at the opening event. The redesigned skate park features a half pipe, quarter pipe, grindbox, ramps, and rails for all ages and abilities.

• 5:30-6pm: Presentation/Demonstration
• 6-7:30pm: DJ entertainment and skating
• 6-7pm: Picnic- Free hot dogs, chips and water (while supplies last)

The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department announces the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the newly replaced Horeb Skatepark. The ceremony will take place Wed., Aug. 9, 2023, at Horeb Springs Park, 330 Springs Street; Waukesha. The event jumps off at 5:30 pm.

“Our department is excited to continue to offer this recreational opportunity”, said Melissa Lipska, Interim Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director. “The new design was selected by skaters for skaters”

The grand opening will begin at 5:30 pm with a ribbon cutting and few words from Waukesha Mayor Shawn Reilly and continue with an introduction to the equipment, including demonstrations by skilled skateboarders. A DJ will provide music and a picnic supper will be served in the shelter as long as supplies last. Dancing, skating and demonstrations will continue until 7:00 pm.

Unique features of the new skatepark includes a beginner area. Beginners can hone their skills before entering the areas where more advanced skills are required. Additional features of the new skatepark include a half pipe, quarter pipe, grindbox, ramps and rails for all ages and abilities. Another important aspect is the skatepark does allow BMX bikes and in-line skates too.
