Pewaukee Library Storytime

If you live in or near Pewaukee and are interested in taking your child to the Pewaukee Public Library storytimes this fall/winter 2018, please know that they have a sign up that begins on Monday, August 27th, 2018 for their fall storytimes.  Registration will begin on Monday, August 27.  Watch this space for the registration form to sign up online, or visit them in person at the Youth Services Desk.

Picture Book Friends

Fridays, September 14, September 21, October 5, October 12

9:30 am or 10:30 am

Stories, songs, action rhymes, music and a craft project or play time for young children and their adults.  All ages are welcome, but this storytime is best for older toddlers up through Kindergarten.  No registration is needed.  Adults stay in the room with their children to model appropriate behavior through their own active participation.

Science Saturdays

Saturday, October 6, November 3

1:00-3:00 pm

Stop in and DO SCIENCE!  Each month we will have several hands-on, self-guided science activities for families to try.  No registration is required, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

In October, we are going to learn about physics by making things stop and go!

In November, we are going to discover magnets and migrations!

Saturday Craft-er-Noons

1:00-3:00 pm

Stop in and flex your creative muscles with Saturday Crafternoons, hosted by the amazing Mrs. Z!  We will have an engaging craft project for children to do using a variety of art materials.  This program is best for children in kindergarten and older.  No registration is required, children 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Wisconsin Science Festival:  Hands-On Science

Saturday, October 13

9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Stop in and explore over a dozen hands-on science activities!  Learn about magnets, circuits, slime, geology, rockets, and much more!  Volunteers from PHS will be on hand to help with the experiments.  A perfect event for curious kids and their adults.  You will be able to take some experiments home with you.  Don’t forget to enter the raffle to win a science prize pack!

Wisconsin Science Festival:  Wildlife in Need Center

Saturday, October 13

2:30 pm

Our friends from the Wildlife in Need Center will present a cool educational presentation!  We will learn about our local wildlife — where they live, what they eat, and how we can help maintain their habitats.  We will even get to meet some of their animal ambassadors!  Please arrive promptly, this presentation is best for families with kids in grades kindergarten and older.  Allergy alert: live animals with feathers and fur.

Wisconsin Science Festival:  Stargazing with the Pewaukee Astronomy Club

Saturday, October 13

7:00-8:30 pm

Our local experts from the Pewaukee Astronomy Club will share their personal telescopes so we can get a good look at the night sky and learn about a few of its amazing features.  If the weather doesn’t cooperate, they will do an indoor presentation.  *Outdoor event, dress for the weather!  Best for older kids, teens and adults.
