FreeBring your family to Sturgeon Fest 2019!
Head to Lakeshore State Park in downtown Milwaukee on September 28, 2019 to enjoy a day of free, family fun (and make a huge difference while doing it!). The festivities will include everything from games and crafts for kids, educational booths, great community partners, delicious local food trucks, and much more! (Plus, of course, the opportunity to sponsor and hand release a sturgeon into Lake Michigan!)
Sturgeon Fest celebrates Riveredge’s 25 year partnership with the Wisconsin DNR to bring back Lake Sturgeon, a critically important species both environmentally and culturally, to the Milwaukee River, where they haven’t been seen in over 100 years.
Sturgeon Fest Schedule of Events
- 11:30 am to Noon: Opening Ceremony
- 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Public Sturgeon Release!
- Sponsor a sturgeon for $10 and release it into Lake Michigan
- 11:00 am to 3:00 pm:
- Local Food Trucks
- Crafts and Games
- Obstacle Course
- Live reptile and amphibian exhibit
- 15+ Booths for hands on learning
- Shopping
- Scavenger Hunt
- 12:00 pm to 3:00: Adventure Rock Climbing (fee)
Sturgeon Fest have limited free parking on a first come, first serve basis as well.
