Operation Honor: A Salute to Veterans

The City of Waukesha is proud to honor our Deployed and Formerly Serving Veteran men and women with Operation Honor. Join in on Saturday, November 8, 2025 for a Care Package Drive for deployed men and women and for A Salute to Veterans celebrating the Veterans that served our country.

The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department (WPRF) announces Operation Honor: A Salute to Veterans presented by INNIO’s Waukesha Engine will take place on Sat., Nov. 4, 2023. The event features Keynote Speaker, Timothy La Sage who served more than 22 active-duty years in the
Marine Corps and has earned two Purple Heart medals and three Navy Commendation Medals. Following the formal program, the 484th Army Ble Devil Brass Band will perform.

6th Annual Operation Honor Care Package Drive

Where: Schuetze Recreation Center – 1120 Baxter Street, Waukesha, WI
When: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Drive-thru and drop-off are available at the front door of Schuetze Recreation Center (1120 Baxter Street). From 3pm-4pm at the Schuetze Recreation Center the City will collect comfort items that will be donated to veterans receiving in-patient services at the Clement J. Zablocki V.A. Hospital in Milwaukee.

Veterans Items requested include:

  • Full-sized toiletries for men & women
    • Body wash
    • Toothpaste (not toothbrushes)
    • Kleenex/tissue packets
  • New Clothing: Especially sweatpants in sizes L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, and 4XL and Men’s underwear in size L (please no socks)
  • Nonperishable snacks
  • Coffee supplies

They DO NOT Send:

  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Batteries
  • Aerosols
  • Religious Materials
  • Explicit Materials

Monetary donations in the form of checks can also be made. Please make out checks to the Milwaukee V.A.

Operation Honor: A Salute to Veterans Program

Join the City of Waukesha as we celebrate and honor our formerly serving veterans in our community. This program begins at 4:30 p.m. at Schuetze Recreation Center (1120 Baxter Street) with our keynote speaker, William C. Markham, Command Chief Master Sergeant, U.S. Air Force (Ret.) and Co-Founder of Project One Vet @ A Time (POVAT). Following the keynote, the 484th Army Band will perform and then a free dinner will be provided to all attendees.

  • 4:30 p.m. – Keynote Speaker: Co Nguyen, President & CEO, War Memorial Center
  • 5:00 p.m. – 484th Army Band Performance
  • 6:00 p.m. – Free Dinner
