Let’s Hike, Delafield!

Let’s Hike, Delafield! The Delafield Public Library is challenging Delafield and its surrounding community to hike 1,000 miles collectively during the month of October. All ages and abilities are welcome, and every mile walked or hiked gets us closer to the community goal.
How Let’s Hike, Delafield! it works:
- Register
- Fill out this form to register
- Keep track of your miles using either
- The form provided
- A phone app
- Or any other way that works for you
- Let the Library know how many miles you walked or hiked
- The Library has a short form for you to fill out at the library
- You can report weekly or at the end of the month
Other things you can do:
- Let’s Learn, Let’s Hike on Saturday, October 5th– To kick off our month-long challenge we are hosting a fall bash with something for everyone.
- 9:30 AM – Learn how to be a curious hiker from 1,000-miler Mary Cieslewicz
- 10:00 AM – Practice your curious hiking skills with a short hike on the Ice Age Trail
- 10:30 AM – Paint a pumpkin, drink hot cocoa, pick up your Let’s Hike, Delafield! packet of information, and possibly win a raffle prize!
- Tyke Hike Bioblitz on October 14th and October 16th at 10:00 AM
- Meet Ms. Andrea in the lobby for a 30-minute hike and BioBlitz, where you observe and record different species
- Sign up for the Ice Age Trail Mammoth Hike Challenge
- When you hike 44 miles and visit three trail communities, you’ll get a special patch

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide diverse and popular reading materials and personalized service to our public, and to foster children’s appreciation for reading and learning.We are a full-service library that emphasizes friendly, helpful assistance to its users. The library is open 7 days a week year-round and has a collection of over 60,000 volumes with an annual circulation of 180,000 items. Trained reference staff are available to help you at all times. Regular programs for adults, teens, preschool and grade school children are held throughout the year. Delafield is a member of the CAFÉ group of cooperating libraries.
