Join in for a cozy and fun-filled fall event at the Schallock Center for Animals! Tales by the Fire is a Halloween-themed evening perfect for families and animal lovers of all ages.

Enjoy a heartwarming visit from Mobile Adoption, where families can meet adoptable pets looking for their forever homes. Get up close with adorable resident goats and meet one of HAWS’ resident horses!

Unleash creativity with pumpkin painting and engage your senses at our Halloween sensory table. Kids will love exploring and discovering during our exciting Scavenger Hunt, and laughter is guaranteed during the wacky Mummy Wrap Contest!

Pick up a pre-packaged Halloween s’mores kit to enjoy by the fire while listening to Halloween and animal-themed stories under the autumn sky.

Don’t miss this magical mix of animals, autumn, and all things Halloween — all in support of HAWS shelter pets! Costumes welcome, but please make sure it’s removable so our furry friends aren’t scared!

*In September 2021, Lake Country mom, Jacqueline E. and her family registered, attended and were the only ones at the event. They received top notch treatment! Staff built a fire, and Pete’s Pops was present. Jacqueline relayed that her children had a blast as it was basically a private tour. Of course they found out about the event through Lake Country Family Fun, and we’re so happy to help their family make unforgettable memories!
