DOORS OPEN MILWAUKEE is Historic Milwaukee’s most ambitious project. As a nonprofit organization, Historic Milwaukee, Inc. has been dedicated to increasing awareness of and commitment to Milwaukee’s history, architecture, and the preservation of our built environment through education and advocacy since 1974.

How to Participate in Doors Open MKE in 2025

Buildings: Visit 100+ Milwaukee buildings on Saturday (if you could!) and 97 on Sunday.

• Sites no longer participating in 2025:
  • Milwaukee PBS – due to a broken elevator
  • Vibrant Body Company
  • War Memorial Center

Neighborhoods: Download the neighborhood activity book designed by artist CK Ledesma and explore 16 Milwaukee neighborhoods. Each neighborhood webpage recommends places to visit on self-guided adventures.

Events: Check out more programming offered throughout Doors Open. Some events require registration.

Art Activity: View videos made in conjunction with Artists Working in Education’s Art Truck Studio, that share creative ways to spend time and explore the place where you live.
