Lifting Spirits around the World – Waukesha

On October 3 and 4, 2020, there will be hot air balloons in the Waukesha sky. There will be no place to gather, but passerbys will be able to see the balloons. Many hot air balloon pilots around the globe will join together as a symbol of thanks, with a coordinated balloon launch called Lifting Spirits Around the World. Independent balloonists from around the world will take flight on these two days, flooding social media with pictures and videos of their flights, with one goal – thanking frontline and essential workers. Balloons put smiles on the faces of young and old.
The WindDancer Hot Air Balloon Team along with approximately 12 additional teams plan to launch near the Waukesha County Airport at sunrise both October 3 & 4, 2020, weather permitting.
Flight path and launch times are wind and weather dependent and will not be known until shortly before sunrise each morning. Up to date details will be posted on WindDancer Balloon Promotions facebook page.
Community members are encouraged to watch the skies from their home or the safety of a legally parked vehicle at sunrise. If you are not in the area, tune into WindDancer Balloon Promotions Facebook page for live video. NO spectators will be allowed to enter the Waukesha Airport Grounds.
There is potential for a Saturday evening drive-by Hot Air Balloon Glow and details will be posted on the WindDancer facebook page as they become available.
