Vintage Shop Hop

There is a Vintage Shop Hop going on throughout Wisconsin and Illinois the first weekend in March AND the first weekend in October 2026. One of the stops is Brown Street Emporium in Oconomowoc. It’s that time of year again. The organizers have gathered almost 400 shops to participate in the 11^th year of the Vintage Shop Hop, a two-day, self-guided road trip in Illinois & Wisconsin. Yes, it’s a fun event for the thousands of shoppers who road trip between the two states, but more than that the event drives tourism, generates local sales tax dollars, and visitor spending abounds in every one of the dozens of towns and villages that are home to the shops.

The event covers 143 towns showcasing 294 vintage shops, antique stores, boutiques and barn sales that represent the sales of 9,494 small businesses in Illinois & Wisconsin.

–Thousands of shoppers will converge on northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin once again for the spring edition of the popular Vintage Shop Hop on Friday and Saturday, March 6 & 7, 2026. The event is a self-guided road trip designed for vintage and antique lovers in the northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin region to discover new shops and satisfy their ‘vintage’ addiction at the same time. Each year between 300 to 400 locally owned vintage shops, antique malls, women’s boutiques, occasional and pop-up shops, home décor stores, upscale consignment shops and vintage barn sales participate in one or both of this one-of-a-kind event. What started with 180 shops thirteen years ago, the Vintage Shop Hop has been a constant means for small retail shops to market to a bigger audience. The upcoming spring edition of the Vintage Shop Hop features 300 individual, locally owned shops in 140 towns. Inside those 300 shops the goods being sold belong to 11,556 small businesses of sellers and artisans. “It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling to know that my event can impact so many small businesses in just two days time”, says Campos.

“Shoppers can get in on any of the vintage decorating trends including ‘cluttercore’ or ‘granny core’” says Ann Campos, founder of the popular Vintage Shop Hop event. “For the past few years minimalism took over, but not anymore. Now it’s okay to embrace ‘clutter’”. Cluttercore is all about intentional clutter. The trend gives permission to display collections that make you smile. Think embroidered fabrics, a variety of patterns, wallpaper, items that are reminiscent of grandma’s house, décor that brings you joy. “The Vintage Shop Hop is the perfect time to hunt and gather the goods for many trends including Mid-Century Modern, traditional, primitive, or a host of other décor styles,” says Campos.
