The Oasis Project Splash 4 Cash aka Splash Fundraiser, in partnership with The Ingleside Hotel and Springs Water Park, is hosting a  fundraiser to support their mission:

• The Oasis Project is a nonprofit network and partnership of businesses, communities of faith and civic-minded volunteers, who are committed to providing free professional tutoring to under-served children in Western Waukesha County.

Our mission is to reach those underserved children with an oasis of support from skilled and experienced teachers who can help them close gaps in their learning as soon as possible.  The result is to give them the ability to choose a more promising future.

We have served hundreds of children over the past seven years needing tutoring through eleven Oasis Learning Centers in nine area elementary schools, one middle school, and one kindergarten through eighth grade school in three school districts. Families of these children are either unable to afford to hire a much-needed tutor or may have extenuating circumstances necessitating our service.

Because of the relative affluence in our community, these children do not receive help through typical Title 1 grants and services that would be available to them if they lived in an area with a higher incidence of poverty. Our mission is to close that gap in services for these children. Eighty-five professional educators in the past eight years, most of whom are retired along with some who are still teaching, bring a wealth of experience to the table. One year our tutors’ cumulative experience was 800 years!

As we identify unmet needs of the under-resourced among us, we are creating a template that can be replicated in any community for meeting each need. Our goal is to continue to bring communities of faith, civic groups, businesses, and foundations together to meet unmet needs that we identify. We envision this idea of community collaboration going viral!

Whether we are fueled by our love for God, love of humanity, desire for justice or all of these, we can work together in a spirit of good will. We can, and we must join our hearts together to bring greater hope and wholeness to our entire community.

The Oasis Project is havin’ a Splashin’ great time again – May 2nd – at the Springs Waterpark! Attendees of this fundraiser truly make a SPLASH in the lives of others by supporting free, professional tutoring for children in need in Lake Country. Each registration helps the non-profit extend opportunities. At only $20/PERSON this is the perfect family outing that also supports other children in the local community.
