This book club reads one book each month, and meets on the third Thursday at 11 am or the fourth Tuesday at 6 pm (pick one meeting) to discuss it. The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride
In 1972, an excavation operation for a new housing complex discovers a skeleton in the bottom of a well. The novel then goes back to 1920s and 1930s Pottstown, Pennsylvania, exploring the lives of the residents of the Chicken Hill neighborhood, which is inhabited mainly by Jewish and Black residents.
