Our Fox River Day
September 16, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
It’s Our Fox River Day – Celebrate the Fox River through Exploration!
Don’t miss the largest watershed event that demonstrates a unified effort of the Southeast Fox River Partnership for caring for our Fox River. The City of Waukesha, Wisconsin DNR and 22 other watershed management units meet regularly to help identify priority issues.
Without interruption the Fox River serves over one million watershed residents every day. It carries the wastewater and stormwater from over 100 communities and provides drinking water for over 300,000 residents. It also provides habitat for a diversity of plants and animals and is an exceptional resource for boaters, paddlers, anglers, and photographers. All the while, the Fox River brings economic value through its aesthetic appeal to every riverfront community.
Jump Right In – Fox River Exploration
Put on provided waders and knee boots and explore life in the Fox River! Don’t miss this opportunity to notice just how many plants, animals, and insects call the Fox River home. Join us to observe life in the Fox River by using nets to collect aquatic macroinvertebrates. Identification guides will be available to learn more about what you find!
