Operation Honor: A Salute to Veterans

FreeThe City of Waukesha is proud to honor our Deployed and Formerly Serving Veteran men and women with Operation Honor. Join us on Saturday, November 4, 2023 for a Care Package Drive for deployed men and women and for A Salute to Veterans celebrating the Veterans that served our country.
The City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department (WPRF) announces Operation Honor: A Salute to Veterans presented by INNIO’s Waukesha Engine will take place on Sat., Nov. 4, 2023. The event features Keynote Speaker, Timothy La Sage who served more than 22 active-duty years in the
Marine Corps and has earned two Purple Heart medals and three Navy Commendation Medals. Following the formal program, the 484th Army Ble Devil Brass Band will perform.
4th Annual Operation Honor Care Package Drive
Where: Schuetze Recreation Center – 1120 Baxter Street, Waukesha, WI
When:2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Drop off any of the below items and Operation Homefront will pack and send your items to deployed service men and women. Feel free to also drop off a card or note of encouragement or thanks. Together with Operation Homefront, a 501c3 organization, the City of Waukesha Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department will collect comfort items to be shipped to deployed service members overseas. Items requested include:
- Beef Jerky
- Drink Mix
- Snack/Granola Bars
- Nuts/Trail Mix
- Hard Candy
- Gum
- Fruit Leather/Dried Fruit
- Crackers/Cracker Packs
- Chip Cups
- Girl Scout Cookies
- Canned Meals (ex: Spaghetti-Os, Ravioli, Etc.)

Come and thank a Veteran or bring a Veteran you know. All Veterans in attendance will be recognized.
Schedule of Events
- 4:30 p.m. – Program featuring keynote speaker Timothy La Sage, 1st Sgt, Ret., USMC
- Mr. La Sage served in the Marine Corps over 22 active-duty years. He earned two Purple Heart medals and three Navy Commendation medals. He has also been featured in several books and television programs.
- 5:00 p.m. – Band Performance
- 6:00 p.m. – Free dinner
