National Go Birding Day Hike

Celebrate Earth Day weekend and National Go Birding Day with the Waukesha County Land Conservancy during a special guided birding hike at our beautiful Hartland Marsh Preserve!

Join WCLC on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, meeting at the Cottonwood Wayside pergola off Cottonwood Avenue in Hartland, with overflow parking available at the neighboring Dorner Mfg. Corp. lot.

As you wander through the wetlands and woodlands of Hartland Marsh, you’ll learn about the birds that call this preserve home, the habitats that support them, and the conservation work helping these landscapes thrive. The approximately 2-mile trail features mowed paths and boardwalks with minimal elevation gain, making it welcoming for birders of every experience level.

This event is free and open to all ages. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water – binoculars are encouraged! Because this hike is weather dependent, be sure to register and check your email the morning of the event for any updates.
