Ice Storm Drone Racing Competition

It’s time for the 2nd Annual Ice Storm Drone Racing Competition scheduled for the Pettit National Ice Center April 29-30, 2023. This family friendly event will be drawing in more than 60 professional drone pilots from around the world to fly their drones at up to 120 mph over the ice between two rinks at the Pettit! Unique Drone Zones on Saturday will also feature highly interactive participation for drone enthusiasts, families and kids of all ages. Fly a virtual drone, talk to pilots, learn how to assemble and fix drones, watch pilots do tricks and much more. Additional info is below and photos from last years event are also attached. Wisconsin’s only international drone racing competition over ice returns to the Pettit National Ice Center for its second year April 29-30! This popular weekend event attracts drone enthusiasts and families to see more than 60 professional drone pilots from the U.S. and as far away as Italy, Costa Rica and South Korea racing at 120 mph over the Pettit’s ice rinks for $25,000 in cash prizes. Local student teams will also compete. New this year for attendees on Saturday – special interactive Drone Zones where fans can meet pilots/support teams; learn how to make, fly and repair drones; try out the Velocidrone – a virtual drone simulator, watch drone pilots performing tricks, learn more about drones, robotics and rockets and much more. Kids and adults of all ages are welcome to get an immersive family friendly experience into this growing and popular sport and hobby!
