Pumpkin Farm Weekend Guide Eberts Greenhouse

Weekend Guide, October 16-18

Halfway through the month of October, and here we are. The temperatures are reflective of a “true fall”, and there is so much fun to be had outside. So as we enter the middle weekend of the month, what will you be doing? Are you crossing off the items on your family’s fall bucket list? Are you wondering what things there are to do on the weekend for your family? Lake Country Family Fun has done the research so you don’t have to! We love seeing families outdoors in the fresh air where we can enjoy these natural resources and still be socially distant from our neighbors. So, if you’re looking for outdoor family fun weekend guide full of things to do – you’re in the right spot with the Lake Country Family Fun Weekend Guide! {We have indoor fun to share with you as well.} See below. ⤵️

THE WEEKEND GUIDE FOR LAKE COUNTRY
AND THE GREATER WAUKESHA COUNTY AREA
HAS ARRIVED FILLED WITH THINGS TO DO
THIS October WEEKEND WITH KIDS!!

What to expect this weekend – chilly, fall weather with a chance for rain – grab your raincoat, though, and get outside between the drops. I’ll be hoping that the forecasted scattered sprinkles don’t ruin too much outdoor fun. If you are looking to go apple picking, corn maze finding, or hiking – it’s one of the best times to go (low crowds)! 😁

Try these outdoor ideas this weekend :

  • Try one of these 10 outdoor hidden gems in our area!
  • Get lost in a corn maze!
        • A couple weekend’s ago we went to Schuster’s Farm and for real got lost. Well, for 10 minutes we found ourselves in a loop before we found the correct path out! Check out some of our pictures through the corn maze guide.
  • Drive through Old World Wisconsin!
  • Head to an outdoor Fall Fest.
        • Fall Festival Fun at Busy Barns
        • Johnson Creek Fall Festival (Drive thru)
        • Trunk or Treat/Fall Fest at St. Teresa Parish, North Lake

  • Pick a pumpkin!
      • If you are literally just looking for a visit to the pumpkin patch, no games or thrills, I’d recommend Rasmussen’s in Chenequa/Hartland. Bonus, they are not busy!
  • Watch a movie outside!
        • Head to a drive-in movie theatre in Jefferson. Yes, Highway 18 is STILL OPEN! BUT it’s potentially their last weekend of the season.
  • Try a hand at Flatstick Friday! {Weather dependent}
  • Visit the friendly animals at Glacier Rock Farms.
        • Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
        • $5 per car farm admission
        • Addition fees ($1-$5) for attractions such as pony rides, hay wagon rides, gem mining, etc…
  • FYI: Retzer Nature Center is CLOSED for construction this weekend (re-opening Wednesday, October 21)
  • Start your Saturday off with fresh local produce at your local farmers market. Plus, Sunday markets are starting now, too!
  • Go camping!!  🌳❤️
  • Go biking!!
  • Take a Hike:
  • Try out a beer garden {ALL DETAILS}.
        • Barthel Fruit Farm in Mequon
  • Schedule a tee time. See which golf courses are open HERE.
  • Ride a PUMPKIN TRAIN! Yes – October only ride the pumpkin train at night OR in the daytime!
  • Visit a Food Truck at E&S Sweets Mukwonago.

There are many more ways to have family fun this weekend.  Lake Country Family Fun has so many great ideas for what to do this weekend to keep you entertained while physically distant.

Lastly, as always, I say, breathe. I have said it multiple times now in weekend guides since SPRING, social media posts and our e-newsletters, and I will continue to say it, because it’s something I remind myself daily. When I feel the overwhelm creeping in, when I feel the uncertainty settling in, when I feel unsure of the next move…I stop and breathe.

So, we want to see all your weekend fun! Turn these lemons into lemonade🍋 Be sure to tag @lakecountryfamilyfun in your weekend fun, your activities, your survival strategies, and we’ll be sure to share in our Facebook or IG stories. Thank you to the many who tagged us last weekend!  🤗🥰
