The City of Oconomowoc has been busy at work improving the park system, and the newest improvement is Riverside Park in Oconomowoc. The city has built a new play structure and is adding seating and a walk way around the park which is to be finished later in the summer of 2014.
The park is located at (675 Cherry Street, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) just south of Harding St and Washington Street, at the intersection of Cherry and Washington.
I spoke with Bryan Spencer, the Superintendent of Parks and Forestry from the City of Oconomowoc this morning (June 5th, 2014) and the park is slated to be open now. All that was left was the finishing of putting out the mulch on the flooring of the play structure.
This is such a cool location, I love that is right off the lake walk, has a pavilion structure, and that it has a path that leads to a restroom over a bridge for a scenic ‘tour’ of sorts. It is a cute little walk, and a great park, you also can fish in the river while you are there! So grab the kids and head over to this hidden gem in Oconomowoc.
Here is a rendering of the proposed structure, and above you can see it in the completed state.
