Our eighth family is the Magnus family from Oconomowoc.
A little bit about the Magnus Family:
The Magnus family, Brian and Amanda, and their daughter, Ella (11 months) have lived in Oconomowoc since March 2015. They moved from West Allis to purchase their first home here in Lake Country. Brian is originally from Wisconsin, but Amanda is from Souix Falls, South Dakata. She moved to Wisconsin in December 2012 for a job in downtown Milwaukee. It was after her move here that she met Brian. Brian now works in Hartland, and since having Ella, Amanda is a stay-at-home-mom. Despite moving from SD, Amanda now has family in the area, as her brother moved to Madison and her parents followed as well to the Oconomowoc area.
Brian and Amanda enjoy taking Ella on walks as a family when the weather is nice, which it has been BEAUTIFUL this fall. They also like to visit area parks with her with Imagination Station being their favorite park. Because Amanda’s family now lives close, Brian and Amanda enjoy date nights often. They like to go out with Brian’s family to the Majestic Cinema of Brookfield to watch the latest movie release. When they host visitors, they like to take them up to Wisconsin Dells or to the Milwaukee Zoo as fun attractions and things to do.
Amanda loves to decorate and visit local shops. She likes attending the ladies night out events at The Roost Mercantile in Pewaukee, but is looking to check out La Belle Legacy in Oconomowoc to see what beauties she can find there. Amanda is also very crafty and likes to do crafts with Ella. She has done hand print and footprint art with her and plans to decorate for Christmas together.
What they love about Lake Country Family Fun:
Amanda heard about Lake Country Family Fun through Facebook as a good resource for parents living in the Lake Country and Waukesha County area. She has “liked” and follows the Lake Country Family Fun Facebook Page for the past ten months, shortly after Ella was born. She enjoys the calendar of events and that there is a listing of things going on each day. Amanda plans to start a tradition of going pumpkin picking every year with her family.
A fun fact about the Magnus Family:
A fun fact about the Magnus family is that they LOVE Disney. Brian’s parents are Disney vacation-club members. Brian and Amanda even honeymooned at Disney World for a few days. They have already made plans to go to Disney World again with Brian’s parents and Ella in 2018. And of course, with Ella’s upcoming first birthday, she will be having a Minnie Mouse themed birthday party 🙂
Favorite Movie to watch together as a Family:
Ella is only 11 months old, but Brian and Amanda really like the Cinderella live action movie, and of course, all Disney movies. They are looking forward to the Live Action Beauty and Beast movie coming out coming out in March 2017.
