Preprimary Open House at University Lake School
January 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
One event on March 10, 2018 at 10:00am
On Saturday, January 13 and Saturday, March 10 from 10 am to 12 pm, University Lake School (ULS) will be holding a Preprimary Open House. Parents are invited to learn more about the philosophy and approach of the ULS preprimary program while also having the opportunity to tour the campus. Children are encouraged to attend!
ULS believes preprimary students should be respected as capable, curious and inquisitive. Teachers encourage students to observe, question, hypothesize and experiment in meaningful investigation. University Lake School’s (ULS) Preprimary, or Preschool Program, is comprised of grades JK3, JK4, and SK.
Hands-On Open House; Reggio Emilia approach at ULS
Our Preprimary Open House gives children the opportunity to socialize with children their age while discovering the preprimary classrooms, which are specifically designed to foster curiosity and creative play. Teachers will be on site to help lead hands-on learning activities.
ULS’s preprimary programs reflect the internationally recognized Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood and preschool education, which fosters: the interest of a child, in depth investigations, collaborative group work, dramatic play, communication skills, and critical thinking skills. Students use the strategies of mathematicians, scientists, authors and artists during these investigations. With this approach, preprimary students’ learning extends far beyond basic skills.
University Lake School (ULS) is a preprimary to grade 12 college preparatory school located on a 180-acre property in Lake Country that delivers an incomparable education driven by high standards and a unique approach to learning. Founded in 1956, ULS provides a dynamic and rigorous curriculum that challenges the whole student by integrating innovative academic, leadership, athletic, artistic and service learning experiences within a vibrant and joyful community.
