Independent Bookstore Day

Come celebrate the fifth annual Independent Bookstore Day with Books & Company on April 27, 2019! This event celebrates independent bookstores and their loyal customers with a nation-wide celebration that spans 460 independent bookstores in 48 states. Books and Company will be offering exclusive day-of merchandise created especially for Independent Bookstore Day by major publishers and authors. Since its inception in 2014, more than 120 authors have demonstrated their support for independent bookstores by donating work for Bookstore Day. It’s an all-day literary party for all book lovers!
Independent Bookstore Day Schedule:
9:00 am-10:30 am – Barb’s donuts and Stone Creek Coffee
9:00 am, 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm- The free galley (or ARC/Advanced Reader Copy) cart refreshed (FREE BOOKS!)
12:00pm-3:00pm- raffle every half hour for our Dinged & Damaged book grab (MORE FREE BOOKS!)
1:00pm-3:00pm- Libro.Fm expert to answer questions about switching over from Audible and getting more free books! FREE audiobooks from Libro.Fm
2:00pm- cake and lemonade
4:30pm-5:00pm- story time with Ms. Elisabeth
6:30pm-8:00pm- TEST YOUR LITERARY SMARTS WITH BOOK TRIVIA!! Register teams of up to 5 people or individually. Free event with light refreshments. Free trivia sign up available on their website through Brown Paper Tickets
ALL DAY: paper crafts, make your own Jane Mount Ideal Bookshelf coloring sheet, Greater Waukesha Literacy Booth (see info below)
Join GREATER WAUKESHA LITERACY to make your own decorative bookmark or to learn about financial literacy for kids. Families can also qualify for a set of three Star Wars(r) children’s books with any purchase of $50 or more from Books and Company. This program is supported by Waukesha State Bank, Kohl’s Associates in Action, and WISN12 TV. They will be at the store all day.
