HAWS is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between people and animals.
We know to truly accomplish this we need to focus on educating the next generation of leaders – future leaders like your child(ren)!
Our camp kids are taught to show compassion for all living things through animal interactions and character-driven programming. Campers will be walking dogs, cuddling cats, hiking trails, holding snakes, and more! They gain respect for the animals and confidence as caregivers and advocates.

Camp Offerings
No school? No problem! HAWS offers day camps at our shelter in Waukesha on most days that the Waukesha School District has days off from school. Have your child come join us for a day of hands-on learning about how to care for a variety of animals that HAWS has available for adoption.

Looking for a fun place for your child to spend some of their winter break? Have them come spend a day or more at one of our locations interacting with and helping to care for our animals, enjoying winter themed activities both indoors and outdoors and learning what animals do in winter both in the wild and as a pet.

Looking for a fun place for your child to spend some of their spring break? Have them come spend a day or more at one of our locations interacting with and helping to care for our animals while also enjoying animal themed games and activities both indoors and outdoors.
