Oconomowoc Library Storytime

If you live in or near Oconomowoc and are interested in taking your child to the Oconomowoc Public Library storytimes this summer 2017, please know that they do not require registration. Each storytime is a drop-in session. They offer several different storytime options for young children and their caregivers all summer long!

Whether you are earning prizes by reading and visiting the library or learning and laughing at one of our events, there is something for everyone.

June 26 – ¡Say Olé!: Bilingual storytelling that will transport you to another world. All ages.
July 10 – Kidsplay: Hilarious and highly interactive improv. Ages 3 and up.
July 17 – Puppet Story Theater: A hands-on, interactive puppet experience. All ages.
July 24 – David Stokes: Animals, humor, and more! Ages 3 and up.
July 31 – Jeanie B!: A fun, musical time! And bubble wrap. All ages.

A whole bunch of LEGO fun and creativity! LEGOs are supplied by the library. No registration required. Best for 5 and up;

Summer Reading Kickoff!
Thursday, June 8

School’s out and the library is open! Stop by for some outdoor fun: Sidewalk chalk, rock painting, popsicles, and more.
Register for summer reading on the spot and earn the chance to dunk Miss Caitlin! Best for 3 and up; all are welcome.

Family Fort Building
Saturday, June 10
1:00-3:00 p.m.
Build a blanket fort in the library at this after-hours event! Make sure to bring the whole family and lots of blankets. All ages.

Build-a- Thon

YOUR MISSION: Drop by and complete the build challenge with the materials provided. WARNING: This mission may be fun, encourage creativity, and build problem solving skills. Ages 5 and up.

Minecraftivores

Good Griefer! It’s Minecraft at the library! Join us for some collaborative Minecraft play over the summer. You’ll be met with challenges, surprises, and more as you play together to build and survive. Space is limited. Come early to sign up; no advance registration required. Ages 8-12.

Kid Explore

Drop by for an evening of hands-on STEAM learning and play! Explore, ask questions, and have fun! Ages 0-5.

Coding Club

Learn the basics of coding, robotics, programming, and more with members of the award-winning Cooney Tech Robotics team! Registration opens Mon., June 5 and is REQUIRED. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Le’go My Lego!
Saturday, July 8

Build a Lego city with architect, John Peine! Legos provided. Ages 5 and up. No registration required.

Tech Faire

9:30-12:30 a.m.
A drop-in day devoted to all things tech! Lots of hands-on play and tinkering, as well as live demonstrations of robots, AI, and more. Best for ages 5 and up. All are welcome.

Teen Programs

Books build better readers, and readers build a better world. Explore all the library has to offer at our exclusively teen events, and earn prizes by visiting the library and participating in the reading program.

Anime Club

Hula-Hoop Yoga with BlissTonic
Monday, July 24
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Come learn the art of hoop dance! Practice with fun warm-ups, games and tricks in this workshop on body movement.
Register at the library starting June 5. Space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

Teen After Hours
Fridays

When the library closes…the teens take over!

June 9: Fandemonium
Games and activities for ALL fandoms. Come in cosplay to win prizes!

July 7: Build-a- Thon
Build box forts and play Capture the Flag; plus LEGOs, Rube Goldberg machines, and more.

July 21: Game On
Library-wide hide ‘n’ seek (in the dark), Super Smash Bros., FNAF, and everything in between.

Aug. 4: Potter vs. Percy
Compete as teams to see which universe comes out on top. Cosplay encouraged!
