Festival City Symphony Series
Festival City Symphony is back with a new free concert series event: Saturday Classics Concert Series
The Saturday Classics concert series welcomes newcomers and established symphony enthusiasts alike. Held at the elegant yet inviting Bradley Symphony Center at 212 W Wisconsin Ave in Milwaukee, this concert series makes high-quality classical music accessible to all. Admission to Saturday Classics concerts is FREE with suggested donation.
Before the concerts, families can enjoy a Children’s Program Notes presentation by music educator Lynn Roginske beginning at 1:45pm in the Gallery. Then at 2:00pm, concertgoers will be inspired by masterpieces of renowned composers presented by the professional musicians of Festival City Symphony led by Music Director Carter Simmons. The recommended age for children to best enjoy this concert series is grade 2 and above. Saturday Classics tickets will be available to reserve online in early August.

November 18, 2023 – Beyond Words: Harmonious Symphonic Poems

January 27, 2024 – A Classical Affair to Remember

Join Festival City Symphony for a concert of romantic music that will have the audience feeling the love. FCS’s string section will open with selected movements of Antonin Dvořák’s sumptuous Serenade for Strings. FCS will then feature horn players Brandon Yahn, Nancy Cline, Kathryn Krubsack, and Sue Walker in a performance of Robert Schumann’s Konzertstück, op. 86, a concerto for four horns and orchestra.

The sentimental afternoon of music will conclude with a passionate trip through Italy thanks to Felix Mendelssohn’s athletic Symphony No. 4, commonly known as the “Italian.” This concert is sure to inspire each audience member to amorously enter their Romantic Era. Reserve your tickets today!

Schumann – Konzertstück for Four Horns and Orchestra

Mendelssohn – Symphony no. 4 “Italian”

Gain a better understanding of each concert’s theme and learn the secrets of the composers by attending Festival City Symphony’s pre-concert presentation, “Unlocking the Score.” Music educator Lynn Roginske will help audience members of all ages listen for harmonies, watch for crescendos, and feel the music more deeply. All are invited to this free talk from stage, which begins thirty minutes prior to the concert start time.

Admission to the concert is FREE with a suggested donation of $14 for adults and $8 for children, seniors, and students.

The Avenue Parking Garage is the Bradley Symphony Center’s preferred parking partner and is located at 615 N 2nd St, on the west side of 2nd Street, between Michigan Avenue and Wisconsin Avenue. With multiple entrance and exit points and 1,700 parking spaces, the parking structure at The Avenue is a safe, convenient, and affordable choice for patrons.
The 2nd and Plankinton Garage is located at 724 N Plankinton Ave, on the west side of Plankinton Avenue, north of Wisconsin Avenue.
